The day started on a good surface with 6 miles on a cycle track alongside what used to be the A74, the main route to the South from Glasgow. Then it was through Abington and on toward Beattock Summit.
The weather has been absolutely miserable with persistent rain and strong head winds but the lads are battling through. Steve has had some blister issues and they are soaked through but with 6 miles to go, the end is in sight!
Steve and Andy have been joined today by Jim, Steve's work colleague. As a veteran if 10 previous marathons, his experience is proving useful for the boys.
Pics and a video or two will be posted tonight.

Sounds miserable today! Having some company with you must of been great though. Looking forward to seeing some pictures and videos tonight
ReplyDeletewell done yet again, you 2 are doing fantastic. hopefully the weather will improve as the week goes on.
ReplyDeletesee you both on Thursday, keep it going
Jamie says you are both incredible!!
Brilliant work again, sorry to hear about the rubbush weather. Reckon I spoke too soon about blisters.
ReplyDeleteBeen doing some research for you on how you're supposed to prepare for marathons. The website said ......
.....loosen up first. The ideal method is to throw back four fingers of scotch. If the urge to jog persists, double the loosening exercise.
Thought as you're in Scotland this was apt. Could make the rest of run more interesting for you, or longer as you weave across the A roads.
Keep it going!!!!
Just watched the video clips ...you look like you are hardly sweating!!!! Doing my own 7 marathons in 7 days or should that 7 "snickers" in 7 days, it's really tough!!!! Genuinely hope everything is going well, your efforts are being really appreciated not only by all the boys but also from Brian House. Your beers are on Wayne in Wales!!
ReplyDeleteWell done guys, nice to know i'm not the only one suffering this week.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work, see you at weekend :-)
