Steve Murphy and Andy Singleton will set off from Glasgow on 21st April to run 195 miles, finishing one week later in Blackpool. This phenomenal challenge is the equivalent of running a mind (and leg!) blowing 7 marathons in 7 days. All monies raised from their efforts will help fund Brian House Children's Hospice, Cancer Research and BJFF Under 8 Blades. To find out more, go to the first blog post at the bottom of the page.....

The Route
For those who are interested in the detail, the following outlines the rough course Steve and Andy will follow over the seven days. Obviously we shall avoid motorways, but generally speaking, the plan is to work down the major A-roads from North to South which tends to run close-by the main M74 and M6 corridor.
Day 1 - Sunday - Glasgow to Douglas Water
Day 2 - Monday - Douglas Water to Beattock
Day 3 - Tuesday - Beattock to Gretna
Day 4 - Wednesday - Gretna to Southwaite
Day 5 - Thursday - Southwaite to Shap
Day 6 - Friday - Shap to Lancaster
Day 7 - Saturday - Lancaster to Blackpool
There are some gruelling stages in there, not least around Beattock and Shap, fingers crossed the unseasonally cold weather loosens it's grip in the next week or so!

Huge challenge boys but we know you can do it, especially in your magic tights and matching sweatbands ( cue flash dance music) !
ReplyDeleteNatalie and I are so proud of you both, we have seen how much time and effort you both have been putting into preparing for this challenge.
Your determination and commitment has been amazing, there quite literally has been blood, sweat and tears and in Andys case quite a few new grey hairs !!
Thank you to everyone that has sponsored so far, please keep the sponsorship coming in, every donation matters how ever big or small it makes a difference.
The boys have set a target please let's help them get there, and make this challenge hugely worthwhile.
